20 ideas of things to do with your friends in September っ◔◡◔)っ ♥

Everyone's back from wherever they scattered to over summer, the evenings are just starting to turn, and there's maybe four good weeks left before it's properly jumper weather. September doesn't actually mean anything anymore...none of you are in school, no new stationery, no first day outfit, no real reset button. Except it still feels like one eeeven as adults so here's 20 friend date ideas for you to lean in to that feeling.

1. Bakery crawl from your saved folder

Finally visit the place you've had saved since march. Three to five stops, one pastry each stop, chats allong the way.

2. Find the cutest book store and pick one out for each other

No genre restrictions, just what you think suits them. Go for a coffee and a sweet treat afterwards to discuss your choices.

3. Pottery class, wonky mugs encouraged

Is there a better time to gain a new favourite mug? The wonkier the better, honestly. It's proof you actually made it.

4. Y2K spa day at home

Low lighting, high ponytails, everyone's on nail duty for someone else. Why did these spa dates in early 2000s movies look so good.

5. Nostalgic tv marathon

whatever you were obsessed with at 15. gossip girl, 90210, girls, doesn't matter, just commit to the whole season.

6. Make homemade pasta from scratch

Flour everywhere, one person always insists they know the technique. Make a yummy sauce in tandem - and watch a wholesome movie.

7. Morning yoga then brunch

Stretch first, eat the pastry after. Yoga together can open the mind and make people feel more comfortable to be open. You'll have the best conversations afterwards.

8. Autumn vision boarding

It's the season for it. cut out whatever you want the next few months to look like, glue it down properly. Open the floor for how you can help eachother achieve those dreams.

9. Supermarket flower arranging

Nobody needs a florist's budget for this to look intentional. It's such a beautiful, easy way to be creative and accessible to your friend who can't even draw a star (we all have one).

10. Autumn wardrobe thrifting

Pin the pieces you actually need first, make the list, then shop with a budget instead of wandering the rails aimlessly. Model the finds for the group and get truthful opinions.

11. Bake-off, no professional experience required

Everyone bring a dessert and winner is by popular vote. Watch throwback Come Dine with Me clips on YouTube for inspiration. Obviously, someone will be upset about the result.

12. Paint each other's portraits

Ok rule number one is no one is allowed to be offended. Everyone has to try with 100% effort and just see what happens. Imperfect portraits are actually the best, frame each others faces in your place.

13. Manicures at home, playlist on

In my opinion we have lost the art of painting our own nails, but it's the epitome of a good girls night like the one in the movies. Get the girls over, get a good playlist on and make sure you have polish remover before you take out the bright red one.

14. Local theatre, cheap seats

It doesn't always have to be a west end production, your local theatre is full of talented people at really reasonable prices where you can explore a new cultural experience.

15. Museum or gallery deep dive

There's always an exhibition on that yourself and your friends would relate to. Have a search of what's on in your city and make sure it happens, these parts of cultural experiences really bond you.

16. Farmers market then a picnic

Buy whatever actually looks good rather than what's on a list, then work out the rest of the plan once you're there. Cheese, bread, something in season, and a decent patch of grass does most of the work for you.

17. Candle making workshop

Cosy candle season is upon us, so what better time to learn how to make your own. Honestly this is one of the things on this list I am booking right now.

18. Hot chocolate then a hot girl walk

The weather is turning, and we need to suss out which is the best hot chocolate in your locality. This is the kind of walk where you will reveal all of your deepest thoughts. Get ready.

19. Try a sport none of you are good at

September is the perfect month to try some more active outdoor activities while it's dry, but not too hot. Badminton, tennis, anything with a scoreboard and zero shame about your athletic abilities.

20. End it by getting the October friend date in the diary

Open quti, the social calendar for your group chat made by 2 type A planner girls and get the next one locked in with your people before summer officially clocks out and everyone goes quiet again.

My challenge to you is to do more than one of these before October turns up and everyone's suddenly busy again in a different way. Get one in the diary properly, not just saved to a board you'll scroll past in November.

That's the part Quti can really help with, share an idea, send an invite with a plan, get a straight answer, watch September turn into an actual month full of memory making instead of the placeholder before autumn starts properly.
