20 Girls night in ideas for when you don't want to leave the house ★·.·⍣·.·★

Some girls nights need a whole itinerary, but this one doesn't leave the postcode. Summer is (nearly) over and it's time for cosy nights in to recalibrate with the besties. No getting dressed properly, no arguing over where to eat, no group chat spiral about whether to wear a jacket or not. Just everyone showing up in whatever they were already wearing and actually staying in, and not the kind of "staying in" that turns into three people cancelling by 3pm.

1. Blanket fort, deluxe edition girls this is not a joke, and definately not for kids. Picture actual cushions, actual effort, actual structural integrity. Build it like you mean it.

2. Candle-lit dinner turn off every light in the house. Light everything you own instead, eat dinner like this for no reason other than it's better. It's giving no big light, taken to extremes.

3. No phone check in for some of us, this year has been a roller coater. Leave your phones at the door and actually talk properly. Bring a list of questions you want to check in with each other on.

4. Trash but make it gourmet dinner take the most unserious food you can think of and make the fanciest possible version of it. I'm thinking chicken nuggets with cavier on silverwear. You get me?

5. Spa night like a y2k movie lay out sheet mask options, put on spa music, get the hot pink polish and the toe dividers and let's have the best night of our lives.

6. Read eachother's tarot with tarot it doesn't actually matter if anyone actually believes it (I really really do believe in it btw). But it's an excuse to say things out loud you wouldn't normally bring up. Time to say what you've been feeling all summer.

7. Rewatch the show you were obsessed with at 15 be it Gossip Girl, 90210, Criminal Minds or Girls. A TV marathon is often easier and more nostalgic than a movie marathon.

8. Invent a cocktail menu from whatever's in the cupboard nobody's allowed to buy anything new for this. Worst drink of the night becomes someone's actual nickname for the rest of the week.

9. Start a shared scrapbook of the year so far photo dump, printed out, stuck down badly. it doesn't need to be good, it needs to exist in six months.

10. Presentation night everyone prepares an actual five minute slide deck on their job. slides are mandatory. Questions from the floor are encouraged, mostly to confuse whoever's presenting.

11. New season vision boarding it's autumn now, which means there's less of this year left than it feels like. Cut out whatever you actually want the next few months to look like, glue it down, put it somewhere you'll see it.

12. Body double night bring whatever you've been avoiding, the admin, the craft you started in January, the text you need to send. Nobody has to talk, everyone has to stay in the room until it's actually done.

13. Group horoscope reading pull everyone's chart up for this month and go through what you can expect as individuals and as a collective.

14. Book swap night Everyone brings the book they keep recommending and never actually lending out. Trade, no pressure to read it before the next one.

15. Build the "this year so far" playlist together one song each, no vetoes, argue about the running order anyway. This will become a digital sensory memory of this summer with your best friends.

16. Cards with genuinely stupid stakes loser does the washing up, or texts someone they shouldn't, or has to say one embarrassing thing out loud. keep it low enough to actually enforce.

17. Write letters to open next year five minutes each, no overthinking it. Key is to put them somewhere you'll actually find them again.

18. Bake something none of you have attempted before there's been such cute cakes going viral recently. Whether it's dot cake, or the gem cake - give it a go. Permission to have cake for dinner.

19. The confessions jar anonymous notes, read aloud, no names attached. Mild chaos guaranteed. It's giving real housewives.

20. End the night by actually planning the next one this is the one that turns a good night into a habit. Before anyone leaves, get a date in Quti (the social calendar for your group chat). Not "we should do this again soon", but an an ✨actual day✨.
