At Quti, your privacy matters. We’re committed to protecting your personal data and being transparent about how we collect, use, and store it. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, your rights under UK and Irish law, and how to contact us.

Quti is operated by Quti Ltd, a company based in the United Kingdom. This policy applies to your use of the Quti mobile application (the “App”) on iOS devices.

• Apple Developer Program License Agreement and App Store Guidelines

We only process your data where we have a lawful basis, including your consent, a legitimate interest (e.g., improving the app and enabling users to connect and organise social activities), or to fulfil a contract with you (e.g., managing your account).

3. What Data We Collect

We collect the following data when you use Quti:

Data You Provide

• Name and Username – to identify you on the platform.

• Phone number – used for login and friend syncing.

• Profile photo – optional, for your social presence.

• Event details – RSVPs, event photo, invites, location, descriptions, chat.

Automatically Collected Data

• Device information – model, OS version, app version.

• Usage data – app interactions, feature use.

• Analytics – anonymised and aggregated (e.g., Firebase).

Sensitive or Location Data (Only with Consent)

• Location sharing – only if you choose to add a location to an event or RSVP.

• Contact syncing – only with explicit opt-in to suggest friends and enable sending event and app invites to your contacts on your behalf, for the purpose of facilitating real life social interactions.

We do not collect precise background location data without your active consent.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Create and manage your Quti account.

• Let you plan, RSVP to, and remember events.

• Suggest connections based on synced contacts.

• Send event updates and app notifications (only with permission).

• Provide customer support and respond to reports.

• Improve app features and performance.

• Send invitations to events and to join Quti to contacts, where you choose to invite others, acting on your behalf.

We never sell your data.

5. Sharing Your Data

We only share your personal data with:

• Other users, when you create or RSVP to events (based on your visibility settings).

• Service providers we use to operate the app (e.g. cloud storage, analytics).

All third-party services we use are GDPR-compliant and have appropriate data safeguards.

We will never share your personal information with advertisers or sell your data.

6. Your Rights

Under UK and Irish data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.

• Request correction of inaccurate data.

• Request deletion of your data (“Right to be forgotten”).

• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. for contact syncing or location).

• Object to or restrict data processing.

• File a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) or Ireland’s Data Protection Commission (DPC).

7. Data Retention

We retain your data:

• For as long as you have a Quti account.

• For a short period after deletion for backup and legal compliance.

• Event data is stored until deleted by the user.

You may delete your account at any time in the app, which will remove your profile, event history, and any personal data not legally required to retain.

8. Children’s Privacy

Quti is not intended for users under 13 years old. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it immediately.

Parents or guardians who believe a child under 13 has used Quti should contact us at support@quti.app.

9. International Transfers

While Quti is based in the UK, some of our service providers may process data outside the UK or EEA. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as:

• Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)

• UK IDTA (International Data Transfer Agreement)

• Only using GDPR-compliant processors (e.g. Google Cloud, AWS, Firebase)

We take data protection seriously and implement:

• End-to-end encryption for account authentication

• Secure servers and access controls

• Regular security audits and vulnerability testing

• App-level permissions and user controls

No digital platform is completely secure, but we work continuously to keep your data safe.

11. In-App Links and Events

Quti allows users to create events and share third-party links (e.g. booking pages). We do not control or endorse external content or events. Use discretion when attending in-person events or clicking links. We are not liable for harm or loss resulting from third-party content shared within Quti.

12. Inviting Others to Quti

 

Quti allows users to invite friends to events and to the app using contact details they provide (such as phone numbers).

Where a user chooses to invite someone, we may process that contact information to send a message on the user’s behalf. These messages are limited to facilitating social interactions (e.g. app invitations, event invitations, updates, or responses) and are not promotional in nature.

Our legal basis for this processing is legitimate interest, specifically enabling users to organise and participate in real-life social plans with their existing friends.

We take steps to ensure this is fair and proportionate by:

• Limiting the number and frequency of messages sent  

• Ensuring messages clearly identify the inviting user  

• Providing recipients with a clear way to opt out of further messages  

If you receive a message from Quti and no longer wish to be contacted, you may opt out at any time using the instructions in the message.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to legal requirements or app functionality. We will notify users via the app or email when material changes are made.

The updated version will be effective upon posting.
